Obituary of Robert Orr

Robert (Bobby) L. Orr, born in Miami Florida June 20, 1958, passed away from natural causes August 8, 2018.   He attended Derby High School in Derby, Kansas, and immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduating.

Bobby served 24 years as a loadmaster on C-141’s and C-17’s, retiring in 2001 as a Master Sargent.  He logged over 6,000 hours, traveling the world delivering both military and humanitarian supplies, including air dropping supplies to scientist at the South Pole.  He continued to serve our country after his retirement, working as a mission planner for C-17’s for 15 years.  Bobby fully retired in 2016, and has been enjoying himself in South Carolina.

Bobby is proceeded in death by his parents, Ferdinand Davis Orr and Rebecca Ann Orr.  He is survived by his four brothers Bill (with wife Diane and daughter Kelly), Charlie (with wife Pam), Owen, and Lloyd (with wife Aniela and children Anna and Davis).

Plans for services are still to be determined.

Arrangements are being handled by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services Summerville.
