Obituary of Richard John Herman Griswold

Richard John Herman Griswold, beloved widowed husband of Tamara Griswold, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024 at the age of 67. He was born on April 15, 1956 in Washington, D.C., and resided in Cross, SC

Richard led a remarkable life, full of joy and laughter. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and later served in the Air Force as a Security Police Staff Sergeant , and was recently employed as a Security Contractor with Google.

Richard had a passion for music and enjoyed listening to his favorite bands and musical artists, including Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, and Pink Floyd. He also had a sweet tooth and enjoyed his favorite treat, Ice Cream with M&Ms

Family and friends meant the world to Richard, and he loved nothing more than spending time with his loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Richard is survived by his Mother Barbara Beck, Sister Brenda Griswold, Brother Robert Griswold, and Daughters: Karla Byrd and her husband Patrick Byrd, Jessica Outen and her husband Daniel Outen, Elizabeth Griswold, and Stepson Jimmy Lee. He was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In Richard's presence, laughter was abundant, and he had a remarkable ability to make everyone around him smile, especially with his Daily Jokes found on Facebook. His impact on the lives of others will be remembered and cherished.

A Viewing will be held at 281 Treeland Dr. Ladson, SC 29456 on Thursday March 21st at 2pm, and the Memorial Service will be held on Friday March 22nd at 1pm to celebrate Richard's life at Victory Christian Church 521 N Goose Creek Blvd. 29445
