Obituary of Arnold Joseph Valente

Arnold Joseph Valente, 85, of Charleston, SC, passed away on June 19, 2015 in Charleston, SC. A sunset voyage aboard the Osprey to the intra-coastal water way of the Atlantic Ocean where scattering of the ashes occured on July 19, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to any animal or nature advocacy group of your choice in honor of his deep love of animals, life, and nature. Arnold was born in Berea, Ohio on December 14, 1930, a son of Joseph F. Valente, and Florence Winifred Stephens. Arnold served in the United States Army until August 31, 1960 until he was discharged under honorable conditions. He served as a Merchant Marine from 1950 until retirement in 1994. Prior to retirement, Arnold obtained licensing as a Master of Steam and Motor Vessels in 1991. After retiring, Arnold continued to learn, explore, and expand his knowledge in a multitude of investments options. His monetary contributions to multiple animal and child welfare organizations exemplified his love of life, nature, and humanity. Arnold is survived by two daughters Stacie Lynn Stone and Natalie Ellen Dong, one son, David Arnold Valente, two grandchildren, Briana Radle and Matthew Radle. Arnold is preceded in death by his father, mother, brothers, and one sister. For my Dad in Heaven, I miss you so much, Dad. Not just today but Everyday. His shoes can never be filled by anyone.
