Obituary of Emmett Leroy Rackley

Emmet Leroy (Lee) Rackley, age 83,passed away peacefully at his home in Goose Creek, SC, on July 14, 2022.

Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC, July 21, 2022. A memorial will be held at a later date.

Lee was born on December 21, 1938 to Stella and C.T. (Ted) Rackley of Amarillo, TX. He was married to Jerrilyn Rackley of Port Chicago, CA, on August 16, 1958. They were married for 34 years.  He joined the US Navy in 1958 and served his country in the submarine service until his retirement in 1989. He was an active member of the Fleet Reserve, Goose Creek Lodge #401, and The Dorchester Shrine.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Stella and C.T. (Ted) Rackley and one brother, Ted Rackley, all of Amarillo, TX.

Lee is survived by his ex-wife, Jerrilyn Rackley of Moncks Corner, SC, two daughters, Teresa Lauver, and Tina Goode of Moncks Corner, SC, and one son, Terry Rackley and his wife, Sherryl Rackley, of Marianna, FL, eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, two brothers, John Rackley and Robert Rackley, of Amarillo, TX as well as a host of family members in and around Amarillo, TX.
