Obituary of Charles Albert Hull

Charles (Chip) Hull, age 75, passed away on October 25, 2022, peacefully at his home with his wife by his side. Chip was born in Farmington, Maine and enjoyed spending his summers in Maine all his life. The rest of the year Chip lived in Charleston where his neighbors loved him dearly and referred to him as the “mayor” of their street.

Chip was an active member of the International Church where he served as the building and grounds deacon. Chip served his country in the U.S. Marines. He worked for 28 years at the Charleston Naval Shipyard until it closed. After retiring from the Shipyard, he worked as a master carpenter on many of the historic homes in downtown Charleston. He also used his carpentry skills in serving his church. Many people came to know Chip as a fun-loving man who loved the Lord. He touched many people’s lives with his smile and good deeds, always willing to help someone in need.

Chip is survived by his wife, Sanae of over 52 years. He is also survived by a daughter, Alisa Parker (Ronnie) of Cleveland, TN, and a son, Bert Hull (Stephanie) of Knoxville, TN. He is survived by two brothers Stacy Hull (Anne) and Peter Hull (Linda) and a sister Martha White (Denny). In addition, he is survived by 3 granddaughters and several nephews and nieces. Chip was preceded in death by his parents Stacy and Phyllis Hull and a sister-in-law Nan Hull.

The visitation with the family is Sunday, November 6, 2022, at 1:30 at the International Church, 1560 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC 29407. The Memorial Service will follow at 2:30. The graveside service and burial of the urn will be at a later date at the National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC.
