Obituary of Steven Arthur Johnson

Ladson - Steven ("Steve") Arthur Johnson, of Ladson, South Carolina, formerly of Zanesville, Ohio, unexpectedly left his earthly body and entered the gates of Heaven on Sunday, February 4, 2024. Steve was born in Zanesville, Ohio, on May 30, 1944, the only child of Norma Shaffer Johnson and Carl Johnson. He was a graduate of New Concord High School, and retired from Anchor Glass Container. In addition to his service at Anchor Glass, Steve worked at Muskingum College, 5B's, Pryor Real Estate, and as a finish carpenter.

He was a member of Crossroads Community Church where he led the greeter team. He was a gentle soul who was known for his kindness and heart for serving others and wanted everyone to know the Lord. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with friends, woodworking, gardening, reading Western novels, and watching Andy Griffith reruns.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 56 years, Rebecca Davey Johnson, daughters Lori (Kyle) Ogilbee, and Amy (Kevin) Schmoll; grandchildren Brandon (Brittany) Parrish and Breanne Parrish, and great grandchildren Stetson Laufersweiler and Raven Parrish.

Steve loved Jesus and shined brightly for him. His desire was for everyone to know the Lord and the promise of eternal life in Heaven.

"We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8
