Obituary of Peggy Ann Moltz

Peggy Ann Moltz

December 1, 1937 – February 14, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce that our mother, Peggy Ann (Sturgess) Moltz, 86, of Myrtle Beach, SC passed away on February 14, 2024. She was born December 1, 1937, in Prince George's County Maryland to the late William Albert and Mary Genevieve Sturgess (née Richardson).

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, George “Eddie” Moltz, daughters Debbie (Ronnie) Walburn of Dunkirk, MD, Pam Webb of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Dawn (Don) Grey of Surfside Beach, SC and Mary (Joe) Roberts of Myrtle Beach, SC. She is also survived by her grandchildren Toni, Jennifer, Angela, Casey, Amanda, Corey, LJ, Cole, and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Breunna, Jay, Makayla, Taylor, Carter, Chase, Callie, Zach, Charlotte, Piper and Logan; sisters and brothers, Betty Farmer, Myrtle Moltz, George “Eddie Boy” Sturgess, Michael Sturgess, Linda Harrison and Margaret “Mickey” Hoeckel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by sisters, Louise Kidwell, Patricia Miller and Rose Sturgess; and brothers, William “Billy” Sturgess and Claude “Chuck” Sturgess.

Peggy and Eddie married on October 10, 1958; raised their family and lived in Riverdale, MD for 30 years but also called Dunkirk, MD home for a number of years before moving to Myrtle Beach, SC in 2006. Above all, Peggy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Our Mom was loving and sweet. She loved romance novels, word search puzzles, junk food and watching sports. But her biggest love were her grandkids/great grandkids. They brought her so much joy. She was extremely proud of them and all of their accomplishments. They all loved their Nana just as much as she loved them.
