Obituary of Donna Jean Burris

Donna Jean Burris, 81, passed on February 26th.

Born on September 21, 1942 in Alma, Arkansas to her parents, Thomas Sill and Evelyn Teague. She was the first of 6 sisters. She is survived by her sisters, Linda Sevier and Kay Sill.

After moving to California with her family when she was young, she quickly started developing her work ethic in the agricultural fields to help her family. She continued her career by working at Woolworth's, Foothill Christian School, 40+ years at Sears, Hanahan Recreation Department to name a few. She was still employed by Walmart, and Northern Tool at the time of her passing.

She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Robert Joseph Burris. They are survived by their adopted son, Robert Sanford Burris.

Donna enjoyed many pastimes during her life. The main ones were celebrating holidays and special events with friends and family, traveling, photography, and scrapbooking. Later in life, she really was enthused with cruise ships and lighthouses.

She will always be remembered by her kind nature and sweet soul. She never met a stranger that didn't turn out to be a friend; that quality helped her excel in the retail industry. She was the perfect mother, always striving to help and support her family. She was a guardian angel to her son. She will dearly be missed by all.

A memorial service will be held for Donna at Simplicity of Ladson on Friday, March 8th at 2pm.
